Combo Boxes/Menus

Combo Boxes, (aka Drop Down Menus) automatically provide a list of data for data entry. Every combo box is limited to the choices provided to insure data integrity and consistency system-wide. In most cases, a combo box is a required entry for any new record. When you see a field on a form with a "down" arrow on the right side, this is a "combo box". Following is an example of a combo box to enter a new Voucher against a Receiver against a Purchase Order:

There are two ways to use a combo box:

1. As you begin to enter data, BusinessMaster will automatically fill in the remaining numbers as you type. In the event that you do not know the data you are looking for, but have an idea, you can enter just a few digits of the data and then proceed to the following method.

2. Using the mouse, you can click the arrow button on the right side of the combo box. This will cause a menu to "drop-down" and display a list of available data you can pick from. You can either use the arrow keys on the keyboard, the mouse, or fill in the first few digits to manually bring the list to the appropriate section of data. To select the entry, click with the mouse, or use the Enter key.
