Add a Help File
Follow the steps below for a demonstration of the HelpMaster:
Open the Projects Manager and then click the AddHelpFile button:
The HelpMaster pops up and you can tell which form the HelpMaster is being associated with by looking at the top of the screen, above the file rows. Because we opened the Projects Manager, this field should list the "SalesOrderScheduler_f" in this field:
Now we can associate a file with the Projects Manager. Click the "Get File" button and browse for the file you want to link to. Once you have selected the file, tab over to the open description field to the right and enter a description:
Repeat the process if there are more files you wish to add, otherwise your changes are automatically saved.
Another example is to add a web page or a specific bookmarked section of a web page. The online help manual uses a lot of page Bookmarks so this can be a helpful tool. Let's say I wanted to add a link in the HelpMaster to the Projects section in the Online Help Manual on How to Enter Billings. I can go to the Projects How To page, and right click on the Enter Billings hyperlink at the top of the page. Then I select "Copy Shortcut" from the menu that pops up after I right-clicked. Next I click the AddHelpFile link in BusinessMaster, and paste that shortcut into the open row. Now whenever I, or anyone on the network using BusinessMaster opens the HelpMaster, and clicks the OpenFile button, it will open to that section of the Projects How To page pertaining to entering Billings in BusinessMaster:
View a HelpFile <Top>
Now, whenever you are in the Projects Manager (or whichever form you associate a help file with), any time you click the HelpMaster button, your associated file or link will be listed there in the HelpMaster.
Simply click the "OpenFile" button to open the listed file or page:
You may get a Microsoft Office verification box that pops up. If so, click the OK button and the file will open:
