Here are some basic tips for Navigating the BusinessMaster interface:

Use the Tab Key
When navigating through forms in BusinessMaster, rather than clicking in each field with your cursor, try pressing the Tab Key on your keyboard. This will take you in a predesigned path through the form so you can quickly and efficiently work through the form. If you tab too far, you can click the Shift Key and the Tab Key at the same time to move you backward to the previous field. If you Tab into a Description field and want to get to the end of the text in that field, press the Ctrl key plus the Right arrow key to get to the end.

Use the Close Button

Always use the Close Form Door Buttons to close out of Forms. This ensures that any routines get ran that are supposed to run when the form closes.

Always use the Quit Button when closing BusinessMaster. It is located at the end of the main menu. There are important routines that run in the background when you close the program this way.

Work in One Form at a Time
Generally speaking, don't work in two or more forms at one time. For instance, if you are in the Purchasing Manager and you want to add a Vendor in the AddressBook, then close the Purchasing Manager, go to the AddressBook, add your Vendor record, close the AddressBook and then go back to the Purchasing Manager. If you click a button that opens another window, for instance the Add/Edit Customer buttons at the top of the Projects Manager, and it opens another form without closing the previous one, that is OK.

Use the Escape Key
The escape key (located at the top left corner of your keyboard) is a helpful tool when working in BusinessMaster. One use for it is to Close Reports. If you are previewing a report and want to close it, pressing the escape key is a quick way to close it. Another use is when you are stuck in a field and getting error messages, and the program won't let you out. There are different reasons for why and when this happens, but oftentimes just pressing the escape key in cases like this will help you get out of the bind.

Use the Find Tool
Click in the field you want to search by, then open the Find tool by either pressing the Find button (Binoculars) at the bottom of the ItemMaster screen, or pressing the {Ctrl+F} keys on your keyboard. Type in the name of what you want to find, or if you dont know the exact name, type in the beginning letters and/or numbers of what you are searching for, followed by an asterik {*}. This will bring up records matching that criteria, starting with the first record. Click "Next Record" until you get to the record you are looking for. Close the Find Tool once the search is complete. (Pressing the Escape Key on your keyboard is a quick way to close the Find Tool).
