Serial Packing Slips | Projects Materials- Serial | Serial Receiving | Serial Inventory Adjustments | Serial Transaction Reports



If you do serialized transactions, and have purchased the BusinessMaster Serial Module, then you are going to use specific tools in BusinessMaster to do you serialized transactions. Here are the specific screens you will be interacting with, that are specific to the Serial Module:

Serial Packing Slips
To create new Serial Packing Slips, use the New Serial Packing Slip link from the Sales/Shipping Main Menu. This opens up the Serial Packing Slip Manager for making new Serial Packing Slips.

To edit Serial Packing Slips, use the Edit Serial Packing Slip link from the Sales/Shipping Main Menu. This opens up the Serial Packing Slip Manager for editing and adding Serial Packing Slips.

Add/Edit Serial Packing Slips
Adding and Editing Serial Packing Slips is basically the same as Adding and Editing regular Packing Slips. The fields are layed out a little differently. When you tab after entering the quantity shipped, the cursor goes to the PartSerialNumber field. Enter in the serial number and press the tab key. This takes you to the Quantity field. Select the quantity of the serialized item here. If there are more items to ship, click the Go to next record button, as pictured below:

When finished with the Line Items, click the Add button to enter another serial packing slip, the close button to exit, or the Invoice button to create an invoice for the sales order.

Projects Materials - Serial <Top>
If you are using serial numbers for your materials then you can debit your materials on a Project by serial number from two places in BusinessMaster, either in the Materials Screen of the Projects Manager, or the Projects Materials-Serial Manager that is accessed from the Projects Main Menu.

Serial Receiving <Top>
To create new Serial Receivings, use the Add Serial Receiving link from the Sales/Shipping Main Menu. This opens up the Serial Receiving Entry Manager for making new Serial Receivers. The steps for adding the Serial Receiver are basically the same as regular Receivers.

Add Serial Receivers
-First select the PO#, enter your initials in the RecBy field.
-Tab through the notes fields and enter in any applicable notes in the RecNotes field.
-Tab to the QtyRec field and enter in the quantity received for the item.
-Tab to the SerialNumber field and enter your serial number for the item.
-Tab to the Qty field and enter the quantity for the item your are serializing.
-Click the next record button if there are more items to receive for this PO and repeat the steps to receive and serialize the items.

Edit Serial Receivers
To edit Serial Receivings, use the Edit Serial Receiving link from the Sales/Shipping Main Menu. This opens up the Serial Receiving Edit Manager for editing Serial Receivings.

NOTE: The only fields that may be edited from the Edit Receiver Manager are the QtyRec and Location fields.

Open Receiver by the PO# or Receiving#

Upon opening the Receiving Edit Manager, your cursor will automically be placed in the PO# field. Press the Find button on the form, or use the keyboard shortcut {Ctrl+F} to bring up the Find tool. From the Find tool, type the PO# for the Receiver you want to edit into the Find What field. This will open the Receiver in the Edit Receivings form. If you want to search by the Receiving# instead of the PO#, then click with your mouse inside the Receiving# field and then Press the Find button and enter the Receiving# in the Find What field. If you are searching for a # that has been previously searched for, you may also find it in the Find What drop down menu. Press the Esc key on your keyboard to close the Find tool, once you have found the receiver you wish to edit.
Edit the Quantity of the Item Received

Click with your mouse cursor inside the QtyRec field for the line item you want to edit. Edit the quantity of the particular item that was received.
Edit the Inventory Location

Press the Tab button on your keyboard to go the Location field. Use the drop down menu to select the desired Inventory Location, if different from the default.
Edit Any Additional Items

Continue tabbing through each line entry until all receivings for the PO have been edited appropriately. To edit another receiver, click with your cursor inside the PO# or Receiving# fields and use the Find tool to pull up the receiver.
Close Receiver Edit Manager

When you are finished editing receivers, press the close button.

Serial Inventory Adjustments

To create new Serial Inventory Adjustments, use the Add Serial Adjustment link from the Sales/Shipping Main Menu. This opens up theSerial Inventory Adjustment Manager for adding new Serial Inventory Adjustments.

To edit Serial Inventory Adjustments, use the Edit Serial Adjustment link from the Sales/Shipping Main Menu. This opens up the Serial Inventory Adjustment Manager for editing and adding Serial Inventory Adjustments.

Reports <Top>
There are two reports that pertain specifically to Serial Inventory and Transactions. They are in the Serial Transactions Category in the Report Module. Here are basic descriptions of the two reports:

Serial Number History Report
Shows you all parts by their serial numbers and the transaction quantities, actions, transaction #'s and dates. This report can be further filterd by Serial# in the Advanced Selection Criteria.

SerialTransactionQty Report
Shows you all parts by their serial numbers, and the quantities of the parts. This report can be further filterd by Item# in the Advanced Selection Criteria.
